  • SECTOR AND NATIONAL OPERATIONS COMMANDERS CONVERGE TO DISCUSS POST OP AMNI FAKAT LESSONS

Sector Commanders of the Multinational Joint Task Force and Commanders of National Operations from countries of the Lake Chad Basin Commission recently converged on the Headquarters MNJTF to discuss lessons learnt from Operation AMNI FAKAT.

In his opening remarks, the former Force Commander Major General Lucky Irabor called for the observation of one minute silence in honor of personnel who paid the supreme price while fighting to rid the Lake Chad Basin Region of Boko Haram terrorism.

Major General Irabor applauded the efforts of Troop Contributing Countries and appreciated the cooperation and collaboration of national operations towards the fight against the Boko Haram Terrorists. He reiterated the urgent need for the restoration of normalcy within the region and the preservation of the common heritage by ensuring that citizens live in an atmosphere void of terror.

In a PowerPoint presentation the Chief of the Operations MNJTF Colonel Ngwah Abdoulaye outlined the mission, conduct of the operation, the successes recorded, human and material casualties, challenges encountered and well as future prospects. Sectors and National Operations Commanders exchanged ideas on how to better coordinate similar operations in the future.
