  • NIGERIAN CONTINGENT IN HEADQUARTERS MNJTF CELEBRATE NIGERIA’S INDEPENDENCE DAY IN STYLE

The Nigerian contingent in the Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF) celebrated and marked the 62nd anniversary of Nigeria’s Independence from colonial rule. The event was marked at the Headquarters MNJTF N’Djamena Chad with fun and cheerfulness. On arrival, the Force Commander Maj Gen Abdul Khalifah Ibrahim inspected the Guard of Honour and proceeded to the Conference Room where a well packaged country presentation on Nigeria was delivered.

The presentation covered the history, geography, interesting people and culture of Nigeria among others were showcased. General Ibrahim in his remarks recalled the role Nigeria had played towards the stability of many African countries. He opined that despite the challenges Nigeria faces today, it would overcome them and emerge as a more prosperous and peaceful nation as the Nigerian people were resilient.

Present at the event were the DFC, other guests and Military Staff officers of the MNJTF from other countries. They delivered messages of goodwill and wished the republic of Nigeria well. Other highlights of the event included a group photographs, sumptuous lunch and a toast to the future of Nigeria. The event was successful and hitch-free.
