This training was organized by the AU- Mission Support Programme, the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (UN OCHA) Tchad Office jointly with the United Nations International Children’s Fund (UNICEF), United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and the High Commission for Refugees (HCR) for newly arrived staff personnel at Headquarters MNJTF.

The purpose of the training was to raise awareness about the fight against violence based on gender, child protection, and humanitarian principles, military and civilian coordination and international human rights.

During the training, participants were drilled on the humanitarian principles of humanity, neutrality, impartiality and operational independence and case study analysis. The training was also characterized by an intense interactive session between the UN agents and the Staff Officers from Cameroon, Niger and the Benin Republic, who shared field experiences to permit a better understanding of the subject matter through the use of concrete examples.

It is worth noting that the Multinational Joint Task Force considers the training of both its soldiers and officers as a prerequisite towards the accomplishment of its missions.
