As part of its responses to the ramifications of Boko Haram terrorism, the Multinational Joint Task Force has commenced its Strategic Messaging Programme. The objective of the programme is to draw the attention of Target Audiences (TAs) to the inherent contradictions and falsities in Boko Haram narratives, with a view to offering Constructive Alternative Narratives.
Currently, TAs are being sensitized in Cameroon, Chad, Niger and Nigeria through banners, flyers, as well as radio and television jingles. These messages are being broadcast on Cameroon Radio Television (CRTV) national and regional (Maroua) stations, Chadian National Television and Radio stations, Voix du Sahel and Tele Sahel in Niger Republic, as well as Nigerian Television Authority and Borno Radio Television in Nigeria. Other Channels are Dandal Kura International and LAFIYA DOLE Radio. Similarly, the MNJTF website: www.mnjtf.org is active. The MNJTF Bulletin is therefore the latest in the efforts by the force to keep TAs sufficiently aware of its activities and also to enhance MNJTF overall Media Visibility Plan.
