The Cameroon Radio Television (CRTV) has pledged to support the Multinational Joint Task Force in the fight against Boko Haram Terrorism. This promise was conveyed in an official correspondence to the Force Commander, following a request for collaboration made earlier by the MNJTF. The General Manager of CRTV, Mr Charles Ndongo, stated the willingness of his organization to broadcast all official narratives from the MNJTF geared towards the eradication of Boko Haram terrorist group in the Lake Chad Basin.
In a related development, the Chief Military Public Information Officer (CMPIO) of the Multinational Joint Task Force, Colonel Timothy OkonAntigha recently paid an official visit to the CRTV FM 95.5 in Kousseri in the Northern Region of Cameroon. The Station Manager Mr Said Abdel Karim, on behalf of the Management of the Cameroon Radio and Television welcomed, Colonel Antigha and promised to comply with the directive of the CRTV boss regarding support for the MNJTF. He asserted that as journalists “We fight against Boko Haram terrorists behind the microphone whereas the military fight against them using the gun”.
Colonel Antigha on behalf of the Force Commander MNJTF, Major General Lucky Irabor, thanked Mr Abdel Karim and the CRTV management for their support and appreciated the contribution of the institution in helping not just Cameroon, but other countries of the Lake Chad Basin Commission in the fight against Boko Haram terrorism.
