As part of efforts to eliminate the threat of violent extremism in the Lake Chad Basin, the Multinational Joint Task Force has commenced an offensive operation code name “OPERATION AMNI FAKAT.” Flagging – off the operation in Douoma recently, the Force Commander, Major General Lucky Irabor charged commanders and troops to conduct the operations professionally and with due respect for Human Rights. He assured the troops that necessary preparations have been made to ensure their welfare and success of the operation.
The objective of Operation AMNI FAKAT is to liberate remote islands in Lake Chad which are currently sanctuaries for Boko Haram terrorists. Troops from Cameroon, Chad, Niger, and Nigeria are taking part in the operation.
