The Force Commander (FC ) MNJTF Maj Gen AK Ibrahim, today Monday 27 February 2023 decorated Brig Gen AD Yusuf who is the Chief of the MNJTF Intelligence Cell and was recently promoted to the rank of Brigadier general in the Nigerian Army. The FC appreciated him for his hard work, professionalism, and sense of duty. He equally congratulated him on his elevation which he said was well deserved. The FC added that he was filled with joy to be decorating General Yusuf with his new rank while wishing the same to all other MSOs in their respective careers.

Earlier, the DFC, Brigadier General Assoallai Blama congratulated General Yusuf for his promotion and appreciated him for his professionalism and commitment. He particularly praised him for his untiring efforts during the planning of the MNJTF operations. He wished him well in his new rank as he progresses in his career. Responding, Brig Gen Yusuf thanked the Almighty for making the promotion possible while also thanking the FC for his guidance and for creating a conducive working atmosphere. He thanked the Chief of Army Staff Nigerian Army for facilitating the promotion. He ended by thanking all the MSOs for their support and collaboration and stated that the successes recorded by MNJTF were a reflection of the inputs of all the MSOs.

The FC also used the event to bid farewell to 14 outgoing Military Staff Officers (MSOs) from the Federal Republic of Nigeria and the Republic of Niger respectively who had ended their tour of duty at HQ MNJTF. Goodwill messages were showered on the outgoing MSOs by other MSOs, COS, and Commander CCL. In his remarks, the FC commended all the outgoing MSOs for their successful tours of duty at HQ MNJTF and wished them well in their future endeavors. He said the security situation in the Lake Chad Basin is getting better by the day with many displaced or refugee victims returning to their ancestral homes, the opening of traditional trading routes, and the recent near-peaceful conduct of the Nigerian elections despite reports that the criminals would interfere with the elections.

He thereafter presented souvenirs to the outgoing MSOs. Responding on behalf of the outgoing MSOs, Chief Medical Officer, Col Ahmadu Gado from Niger thanked the FC for his guidance during their stay at the HQ MNJTF while appreciating the cooperation of the TCCs to bring troops together to fight the common enemy. He further wished the MNJTF success as it aims to finally eradicate the remnants of the BHTs in the Lake Chad region. Highlights included the decoration of Brig Gen Yusuf, presentation of souvenirs, group photographs, and refreshments.
