A three days Civil Military Cooperation!(CIMIC) seminar workshop was organized by the UNDP, in conjunction with the CCL, and MNJTF J9 cell tagged MNJTF capacity building workshop on CIMIC was held between Tuesday 29 Nov – 1 December 2022 .

Speaking today at the closing ceremony, the Deputy Force Commander MNJTF Brig Gen Assoualai Blama who represented the Force Commander Maj Gen Abdul Khalifah Ibrahim today Thursday December 1st 2022 declared that the workshop was aimed at enhancing the understanding of mandates, fostering collaboration and strengthening the working relationship between CIMIC related actors in the lake Chad basin region, especially in the MNJTF area of operation. A total of 60 participants took part in this workshop including participants from MNJTF HQ and Sectors, AU-MST, LCBC, RS SRR Secretariat, CCL, UNDP Chad branch, UNHCR, Radio Ndarasson, OCHA, COGINTA and IOM.


Brig Gen Assouala Blama commended the RS-RSS Secretariat, the CCL and the British partners for their continues support towards the capacity building of MNJTF personnel which are yielding good results on the field. He further stressed that, the global aim of the workshop which according to him boils down to “winning the hearts and minds of the populaces”, has been achieved. He said the workshop has enabled the MNJTF personnel to better understand the non-kinetic dimension of the MNJTF Mandate as well as that of the other CIMIC actors, thus, enhancing good collaboration and strengthening working relations amongst all the stakeholders.

He also seized this opportunity to thank all those who have in any way contributed to the success of the workshop while wishing a safe return to all the participants. Earlier, the Head of the Regional Stabilisation Strategy Secretariat, Dr. Chika had stressed that the successful implementation of the regional stabilization strategy in the LCB region greatly relies on the MNJTF non-kinetic operations and can only be achieved through a thorough understanding of the mandates of all the stakeholders and good collaboration amongst the CIMIC actors and constructive contributions towards the CIMIC doctrine. In attendance were the COS, Chief cells and other staff officers. The event was hitch free. Highlights of the event included the presentation of certificates, and group photographs (Photographs attached).
