The 10th Joint Steering Committee ended its two-days summit held at N’Djamena between 6- 7 December 2022 with a pledge to facilitate necessary supports provided to the MNJTF . To achieve this, the steering committee discussed extensively on the various supports provided by African Union and other strategic partners to the Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF).


Speaking at the ceremony, the Executive Secretary and Head of mission Amb Mamman Nuhu stated that the steering committee is provided to coordinate additional supports to the MNJTF and will ensure the provision of works, goods and services is in accordance with the donor spirit via the African Union. He enumerated the supports received from African Union, European Union, United Kingdom, Turkey and China. While appreciating the donors for their unflinching supports, the Head of mission advised that there is need to look inwards which is in line with the thinking of recently concluded 16th summit of Heads of state and Government of the Lake Chad Basin region held at Abuja.


Earlier, the head of delegation of the African Union, Col Yohanes Mekonem, assured the committee of African Union continue support to achieve the objectives of a stable environment in the Lake Chad Basin region. Several briefs were presented including a detailed MNJTF brief delivered by the Chief J4 Col SK Bobai.
In attendance were Chief J9 and the CMO. Col NG Mohammed and Col JC Mbanefo from Theater Command also participated. The event was hitch free.
