Following his appointment as the Chief of Operations Nigeria Army Headquarters, Major General Ibrahim Manu Yusuf embarked on visits to Sector 1 – Mora (Cameroon), Sector 2 – Baga Sola (Chad), Sector 3 – Monguno (Nigeria), and Sector 4 – Diffa (Niger), to bid farewell to the troops in the frontlines.

At the various Sectors, the FC expressed his profound appreciation to the Commanders and troops for their display of exceptional professionalism and renewed commitment in the conduct of their activities despite obvious constraints. Major General Yusuf implored them to remain resilient and continue with the cooperation and synergy among the Sectors. He charged them to redouble their efforts for the speedy elimination of terrorists and restoration of peace and security in the region for the socioeconomic activities to strive among the populace. The FC acknowledged the supreme sacrifice of those who lost their lives and prayed for the repose of their souls.

While enroute Sector 1 – Mora (Cameroon), the FC visited Banki, a border town between Nigeria and Cameroon, to monitor the ongoing resettlement of Nigerian refugees from Minawao Refugee camp in Cameroon. At Banki, he briefly met with the Governor of Borno State His Excellency Professor Babaga Umara Zulum. Similarly, Major General Yusuf visited Maroua in Sector 1, where he met with Governor of the Far North Region, Mr Midjiyawa Bakari and the Minister of Territorial Administration – Cameroon, Mr Paul Atanga Nji. During the visits, Major General Yusuf was accompanied by the Chief of Staff, Colonel Major Moussa Mahamadou and some Chiefs of cells from the HQ MNJTF.
