A summit of Presidents and Heads of Governments of countries in the Lake Chad Basin recently met in N’Djamena, Chad. The President of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari convened the emergency summit in his capacity as of the body.

The emergency summit focused on the review of strategies towards strengthening multilateral cooperation and further supporting and repositioning the Multinational Joint Task Force towards achieving its mandate in the Lake Chad Basin.

The host, Idris Derby, Issoufou Mahamadou of Niger Republic and the former Prime Minister of Cameroon Ayang Luc also attended the emergency summit.
