The Staff of the Lake Chad Basin Commission (LCBC) and the Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF), recently bid farewell to the former Executive Secretary and Head of Mission (ES/HoM), Engineer Sanusi Imran Abdullahi.

This was during a send forth dinner organized by the Force Commander of the Multinational Joint Task Force, Major General Lucky Irabor in honour of the former ES/HoM, who came to the end of his tenure in February 2018.

During the dinner, which took place at the banquet hall of the Hilton Hotel in N’Djamena Chad, Engineer Sanusi expressed profound gratitude to the staff of the Lake Chad Basin Commission and the Multinational Joint Task Force, for their relentless support, contribution and collaboration, which permitted him successfully accomplish his mission at the helm of the LCBC.

Dignitaries comprised of Chadian government authorities, Heads and representatives of diplomatic missions, traditional authorities and heads of civil society organizations, described the former LCBC Executive and Head of Mission MNJTF to be hardworking, dynamic,  a tactician and strategist  who gave his all to ensure the smooth functioning of the LCBC and the effective implementation of strategies in the fight against terrorism in the Lake Chad Basin by the LCBC operational arm –the MNJTF.

Meanwhile, his successor, Ambassador Maman Nuhu, the Force Commander MNJTF and other dignitaries present, took turns to express goodwill messages to Engr Sanusi Imran Abdullahi.

It is worth noting that Engr Sanusi headed the Lake Chad Basin Commission from June 2011 to February 2018. He had a distinguished service and recorded remarkable progress during his tenure. Some of his achievements include the operationalisation of the Multinational Joint Task Force, conduct of the international conference on the Lake Chad, which has recommended the recharging of the Lake Chad, sourcing of EU funds to support MNJTF amongst others.
